Akira Kaburagi Regendorf (暁・鏑木・レーゲンドルフ, Akira Kaburagi Rēgendorufu) is a main character in the hit manga/anime series Dance in the Vampire Bund. He is also a werewolf, and thus a member of the Earth Clan which protects the Țepeș vampire family. He is the personal guardian and lover of Queen Mina Țepeș.
Akira is revered by the juniors of the Earth Clan for his impressive accomplishments and despised by rogues after Mina along the Shinso and his faction.
Appearance[]
As a Werewolf
Akira is a young teen who is 17 years of age. He has black hair and green eyes with fair skin. He is considered quite handsome too. He usually wears a uniform much like the other kids that he goes to school with. Although he is seen through out the series in casual clothes. His wolf form is that of a humanoid wolf with black fur. His eyes stay the same color, however they glow when he gets angry.
He can also turn into a complete wolf if he needs to be small and quick. This form is the same color as his werewolf form, but it also has the benefit of only mildly damaging his clothes (which look like he'd been through a really bad fight).
As a Hybrid
After he gets bitten by Mina, his werewolf form is now mainly black but with patches of white fur around his eyes, snout and neck. The white fur on his neck drapes around his body like a scarf. It also is less bulky than his previous form, lacking the excess muscle and fur, being more slender. Despite looking weaker, Akira is much stronger than his form suggests.
Personality[]
Akira is a kind boy who is extremely loyal to his friends. He used to be very care free and innocent but after an incident during his "Rite of Passage", became very distant and rarely smiled. Regardless, his nature to defend others and stand by what's right has never changed. While not spoken, he loves Mina with all his heart. He puts her wellbeing before his own, not because of his clan's duty, but out of his own selfless nature.
Due to his amnesia, he can't remember much about his life other than friends and school (only in anime).
History[]
Akira is the son of Wolfgang Regendorf, the head of the werewolf earth clan that is protecting the royal vampire family, the Țepeș. He was raised from birth to be a strong fighter and devout servant of vampire queen Mina Țepeș. He first met Mina a little after he was born Wolfsburg/Germany, just as she got done with a purity inquiry. He then met her as a little boy at the age of ten. He found her in a garden crying and asked her if she was crying because she had a stomach-ache. That day, Akira promises to forever stay by Mina's side to protect her and keep her happy. Then around the age of 10 Akira goes through his rite of passage with fellow werewolves, Graham, Sanin, and Angel (Angie). The rite of passage involves young werewolves being dropped off in an extremely cold place, such as The Arctic, with absolutely no clothes or contact with anyone else for several months. This tradition is made to create a stronger bond between the wolves and teach them how to work together to survive. During this trial the four develop a strong bond, however the fun is interrupted when Graham kills Sanin for apparently no reason right in front of Angel. When Akira went to confront him, he loses control and kills Graham; this experience haunts Akira and Angel for a long time. With Akira being afraid to tell Mina what happened due to the fact that he doesn't want her to know of his beast-like inner nature. Mina and Akira later reunite upon his seventeenth birthday in which he takes up the role as Mina's personal guard. Yuki, a girl who was also in love with Akira, confesses her feelings for him; Akira rejects her, but both remain as friends. Over time and through many trials, Akira grows stronger so that he can protect and defend Mina from those who wish to see her dead. Though Akira is reluctant at first, he comes to accept and return the feelings Mina has for him. Though neither has openly admitted the love they have for each other, it is a known fact throughout the manga.
Plot Overview[]
He is a kind person, determined to protect Mina, with whom he is in love with. In the anime, he lost all of his memories one year ago, and did not even know he was a werewolf until episode 2. It is later revealed he lost his memory due to failing a mission, and was allowed to live because of his importance to Mina.
Powers & Abilities[]
Werewolf: a human or humanoid being with the ability to transform into a wolf or an anthropomorphic wolf-like creature, either purposely or after being placed under a curse and/or lycanthropic affliction via a bite or scratch from a werewolf, or some other means. This transformation is often associated with the appearance of the full moon in Akira case he can transform herself to werewolf in her will. When in human form he possesses a great sense of smell even the ability to sense if someone is lying. Akira gains the traits of werewolves, most obvious being ability to change into a wolf with the natural characteristics inherent to both wolves and humans, including senses, stamina, agility, etc. In addition werewolves are often attributed strength and speed far beyond those of wolves or men and may have them in lesser amount even when untransformed. Other than this, details vary considerably: some are limited to single form which ranges from completely animal to man-wolf (humanoid with fur, claws and fangs); some can shift between human, wolf-man (humanoid wolf) and pure wolf; while others are able to choose to what extent they want to change, including what parts. Their wolf-form may be completely natural wolf in form, something resembling a Dire Wolf, or even something directly from the darkest dredges of human fear for wolves. Although some wolf instinct is likely to influence a werewolf in transformed state, this varies from completely animal mind to perfectly aware human, even to the stereotypical monster lusting for blood. while beginning to transform Akira's eyes turn to Yellow and start to transform drastically fast. //Special Case// Akari's Transforming to werewolf Doesn't Infect other by scratch either a bite. They inherit it through bloodline or lineage.
- Supernatural Body (Werewolf/Human Form): physical abilities are glaringly, obviously and super/unnaturally physically superior over other beings in their universe because their capabilities are far beyond natural levels, making them immensely stronger, faster, and more durable than regular beings (Werewolf) can achieve by seemingly any method of training or being through lineage.
- Superhuman Strength: They have great strength to the point that they are capable of demolishing tanks with their bare hands even to the point of lifting it and throwing it and able to crack concrete. Werewolves are stronger than vampires.
- Enhanced Senses : They possess keener senses than those of humans such as hearing is fifteen thousand times than a human's and smell is a hundred thousand times better. Their eyes can detect things down to the infrared spectrum. Their sense of smell can be deterred and tricked by strong scents.
- Compass Sense: Were wolf can sense directions like a compass, knowing where a specific direction is.
- Enhanced Senses : They possess keener senses than those of humans such as hearing is fifteen thousand times than a human's and smell is a hundred thousand times better. Their eyes can detect things down to the infrared spectrum. Their sense of smell can be deterred and tricked by strong scents.
- Superhuman Speed: They possess such incredible speed that when they move an afterimage or a blur is seen.
- Superhuman Agility: They possess great agility capable of running at the side of buildings or across edges without slipping at least once.
- Contaminant Immunity: Werewolf are called perfect military soldier due their immune to poisons, toxins, venoms, viruses, bacteria, parasites, pathogens, allergen, etc.
- Superhuman Strength: They have great strength to the point that they are capable of demolishing tanks with their bare hands even to the point of lifting it and throwing it and able to crack concrete. Werewolves are stronger than vampires.
- Healing factor & endurance: Werewolves can heal any type of wounds that are lethal to humans, in a few minutes, even reattach a limb in a second. They are able to survive to gunshots, cuts, burns, and wounds that would kill a human.
- Invulnerability: Werewolf has such capable of immune to any/all forms of physical damage/harm, unable to feel physical pain, is immune to bleeding or loss of limb.
- Transformation/Shape shift (Werewolf): They are capable of transforming into a wolf-form at will.
- Walk in the day: Unlike vampires, werewolves are able to walk around during the day
- Predator Instinct: Werewolf possesses predatory instincts, allowing them to become masters of hunting, manipulating, planning and tracking. One with this ability instantly discern all factors of any situation and manipulate them so its the most optimal and favorable for them. Making them a master of manipulation, pursuit ,and capture. This includes sensing what will happen and how adapt to it, what move a target will make, where they are headed, and effectively manipulate the target, thus causing the target to inevitably play right into the user's hands.
- Anger Empowerment: Werewolf becomes stronger, faster, more durable, etc. through anger/rage whether their own or others, possibly unlocking abilities related to the affinity and enhancing their existing powers and as a bonus the user can suppress pain to great lengths. Some users may be able to draw sustenance from the anger or even slow or stop aging. If angry enough the user can also negate another's abilities/powers.
- Claw Retraction: In wolf form he can project/retract razor-sharp claws of energy, bone, metal, keratin, etc., from their fingertips/hands/fists/wrists/feet for various (mostly offensive) purposes.
- Weather immunity: Werewolf are unaffected by the weather, including wind, rain, temperature, electricity, fog, etc. Their senses, movement or any actions are not affected by weather in any way.
Weaknesses: "Silver" - A werewolf's main weakness is their vulnerability to silver or any substance containing silver, as they can be killed with a silver knife or bullet. Contact with silver will hurt them. An injection of silver nitrate was able to kill one.

His ruler and lover. Akira sees Mina as both the adorable girl Mina acts like at times, and the woman she truly is on the inside. Though they've not spoken their feelings aloud, their bond is clear as day.
